Staying in Cannes

There are ample amounts of accommodation in this great tourist town. When the International Film Festival is on, there is never enough hotels, as thousands arrive in Cannes to spot the stars. Also with the Record and Music production Festival, there is a huge demand for accommodation. So if arriving in Cannes for a holiday, make sure your visit does not clash with one of the major exhibitions or events, otherwise book your room well in advance. During the peak periods, all the hotels of course raise their prices. Cannes is just a fantastic place to stay. On the Boulevard de la Croisette is where all the top hotels are located that overlook the sea and the mountains.

All the Hollywood stars stay in the Hotels around La Croisette and during the Festival, the hotels can be besieged by authograph hunting and picture snapping fans of the stars. Most of the hotels in this area would have rooftop swimming pools and other luxury facilities that would leave you in awe. There are also lower priced hotels available which are really charming and one is guaranteed a warm and comfortable stay. The town oozes luxury and if you want to see how the well off live, then come to Cannes and witness it for yourself. Cannes is a beautiful small and compact town with lots of beautiful people strolling about.

The town is split into 3 different parts, La Croisette, which is the prestigious seaside boulevard, the town centre, which is packed full of fancy boutiques, and lastly the Old port and Suquet hill which make up the old town part. The 3 areas need to be explored in detail as they truly are beautiful. There are also two islands in the sea, which are only about 1 km away from the old port. They are Iles Sainte Marguerite and Saint Honorat, which are visited by thousands of visitors each year. Sainte Marguerite is the larger one with a great forest, while Sainte Honorat has the Cistercian monastery with its 30 monks.
